Keeping Your Pool SafeCommon Safe Measures

vikas 2010.08.23 07:08 0 0

Dont's Ignore and hesitate following these rules as it will protect our life.

  1. Never permit the pool to be used unless at least one person other than the bather is present.
  2. Children must always be under careful adult supervision.
  3. Never run the filter while there are swimmers in or around the pool.
  4. Keep all electrical radios, speakers and other appliances away from the swimming pool.
  5. Do not dispense chemicals into the pool while the pool is being used. Poisoning or painful skin irritations can occur.
  6. Do not permit horseplay or dangerous water games in and around thepool.
  7. Keep the water sanitary and healthful at all times, maintain pool sanitation with the use of a good filter system and the regular application of water purifying chemicals.
  8. Lighting should be provided to illuminate safety signs, deck surfaces, and walks during nighttime pool use.
  9. Do not allow toys, chairs, tables, filtration system's pumps, heaters or other objects that a young child could climb, to be within four feet (4') of the pool.
  10. Allow only one person at a time on the pool ladder(s).
  11. When you touch the filters, pump or electrical parts, make sure the ground under your feet is dry.... absolute dry
  12.  Dive only from the end of a diving board and not from the sides.
  13. Know the water depth and plan your dive path.
  14. Always make a shallow, controlled dive, holding your head and arms up, back arched and steering with your hands.
  15. Don't run and dive.
  16. Do not dive into shallow water.
  17. Always make a shallow dive holding your head and arms up, and steering with your hands.
  18. Make sure there are no submerged obstacles or surface objects in the dive path.
  19. Never dive from the side of an in-ground pool.
  20. Never drink or use drugs and dive.
  21. Watch out for the "dangerous too's"-too tired, too cold, too much sun, too much strenuous activity.
  22. Stay out of the water when overheated.
  23. Know your swimming limits and stay within them. Don't try to keep up with a stronger skilled swimmer or encourage others to keep up with you. Keep an eye on weaker swimmers-if they appear tired, encourage them to rest on land.
  24. Obey "No Diving" signs, which always indicate the area is unsafe for head-first entries. Always check the depth of the water before you dive. A general rule is to enter feet first into water rather than head-first if you don't know the depth. In addition, learn the correct way to dive from a qualified instructor.
  25. Know local weather conditions and prepare for electrical storms. Because water conducts electricity, it is wise to stop swimming as soon as you see or hear a storm.
