1. Brush the walls and floor of the swimming pool to remove as much of the algae as possible. 2. Ensure that the pH level is within the range of 7.2 - 7.6. This will ensure that any chlorine added will work more efficiently - high pH levels in particular will impair the efficiency of the chlorine doing its job.With the pool filter system running, add a chlorine based swimming pool shock at the rate of 1.6 kg. per 1,00,000 litres of pool water dosage for killing algae. Swimming Pool Maintenance → Winter pool careDuring the cold winter months pool water tends to stay clear with very little help. Generally algae does not appear and hardly a pool turn green. If algae growth occurs, it is extremely slow. Of course winterizing is ideal, but many of our pools are not winterized. Step by step procedure
(1 cubic metre = 1000 Litres or 4.5 Litres per 1 Gallon)
Minimum of 7.2 so 10g per 1000 litres per day of Ph plus or minus until you get a reading of 7.4
25ml per 1000 litres for initial dose then 2ml per 1000 litres every 2 weeks.
Initial Dose of chlorine is 6Grams per 1 Cubic Metre Always have filter pump in operation when adding chemicals to pool and keep it running for at least half an hour afterwards.
